The Very Reverend John Girvan BA. BD. conducted the opening service of Kilfennan Presbyterian Church on the afternoon of Saturday 11th September 1982.
The congregation included many members of Great James Street Presbyterian Church, who had, because of declining membership caused by the civil unrest at that time, decided to ‘Port’ to this new location. This was an emotional and difficult time for all those concerned; but a confidence and trust in God’s perfect plan supplied the necessary guidance.
We believe that although we love and care for our church building, the Church is the body of the people of Christ. The love of, and for, our Saviour and our desire to serve Him, has guided and shaped our story since those early days.
